Lub-dub

Ultrasound day! Its finally time to get our first look at baby Scott! I've been waiting for some real conformation that there is a baby in there. I haven't had any pregnancy symptoms yet. I guess I should count myself lucky but it would be nice if I had some kind of sign that I really am prego.

The ultrasound tech was very frustrating. She had the screen pulled away so I couldn't see it. All I could look at was her face and she had very confused looks on her face the whole time. I thought for sure she was going to tell me she didn't see anything and I wasn't really prego. Finally at the very end she pulled the screen back and said look here's the baby and the heartbeat. She probably thought I was upset since I couldn't say anything. All I could do was shake my head yes. If I tried to talk I would probably have started to ball like a baby. But there it is proof in black and white.

Lucky #13

Today is my 13 year Kidney transplant anniversary!! I can't believe its been so long. My creatnine has been great. It sits around 1.1. I am so thankful I have never had a rejection episode and that my blood work has always been good. I called my sister today to say thank you. I mean what else to you say to the person that gave you an organ? I also couldn't hold it in I told her about baby Scott! We are still not telling our parents until after the ultrasound but I couldn't wait to tell someone.

OB

We saw the OB today for the first time since finding out I'm pregnant. It was exciting and scary. Dr. Wilson always has a way of making everything sound like its not a big deal. I was hoping he would do an ultrasound to look for a sac or something to make me feel better but he wants to wait till 6 weeks. Its going to be a long wait!

Baby on Board

So I took another test this morning and there is definitely a line!! Its crazy to think there is a little ball of cells rapidly diving inside of me that will one day be a baby. John couldn't be more excited. We both really want to tell our family's but we decided to wait until we see a heartbeat on ultrasound.

Is it a line

How faint is to faint? I know its to early to test...and its only the first month we have been trying but I took a test anyways! I'm just to excited to wait. If you look at the one on the very top you can see a very very very faint line!

The smell of leather

Since were trying to have a family and I'm finally working at a job that makes some money we decided my little white 2 seater just isn't going to cut it anymore. I've ALWAYS wanted a highlander and Toyota is offering 0% financing so we couldn't pass it up and went car shopping. My brother-in-law told us about USAA car buying service. You don't have to be in the military to use it. They basically do the haggling for you so when you show up the car you want is already at the lowest price. It worked out great and we got a really good deal on a new 2012 Toyota highlander with heated leather seats, sunroof and optional 3 row. We had to go to lodi to get it but it was well worth the drive.

Specialist weigh in

John and I spoke with several different doctors about getting knocked up after having a kidney transplant. Everyone has given us the green light. Some more hesitant than others but everyone says it can be done. Its not going to be easy but we have to try! Hematology says I will have to start lovenox injections daily but other than that I can stay on all my current meds (Cyclosporine, Imuran, Prednisone) I will just have to get my blood levels checked a lot more often now. I know its going to be a long road but were excited!

Baby............................

I guess its time to get started on the next project!
